    What Makes PU a Versatile Insole Material?

    PU insole foam is not one fixed material structure. Its density, cell structure, softness, rebound, and compression behavior depend on the formulation and manufacturing route. PU can be engineered for supportive molded insoles, breathable open-cell constructions, slow-recovery comfort layers, and lighter-weight programs.

    PU is often selected for support and compression resistance, but it should not be described as automatically denser or longer-lasting than every EVA. Premium EVA and supercritical EVA can outperform ordinary PU in weight, rebound, or durability.     For work, outdoor, and all-day footwear requiring a supportive platform, PowerFrame Support combines a soft underfoot feel with a lightweight PU upgrade. The updated reference build is 28 g lighter per pair than the previous version and can reduce material use, raw-material cost, and associated product carbon footprint.

    For breathable step-in comfort, PowerFrame Cloud and PowerFrame Airy provide open-cell options with different weight and cushioning targets. For sustainability-led programs, PowerFrame Bio can incorporate verified plant-derived polyol content; the exact content and manufacturing route are documented for the approved formula.

Its trade-offs depend on the exact formula and construction: some PU solutions are heavier or more expensive than standard EVA, while lightweight PU technology can narrow that gap. Performance must be compared using the finished insole specification and the same test method.

    Which is better, a PU insole or an EVA insole?

    Neither material is universally better. PU is often chosen for supportive or comfort-focused constructions, while standard EVA is frequently selected for low weight and cost. High-grade EVA and supercritical EVA may outperform ordinary PU in rebound, weight, or durability.     How long do PU insoles last?
